From the Leaders of the Office: Our Experience and Values in Engineering Consultancy

Consulting Engineer Youssef Abdelhady Founder of the Egyptian Consultancy Office for Quality and Safety (EQSS). My career began in Saudi Arabia with the Ministry of Health, where I spent ten years in project and maintenance management, specializing in the maintenance of electromechanical equipment and power generators. Upon returning to Egypt, I continued my journey in the field of drinking water facilities, progressing through various positions until I became Head of the New Cities Sector within the Cairo Water Company team, eventually concluding my career as Head of the Technical Support Sector at the Cairo Drinking Water Company. With years of experience, I transitioned to working as a consulting engineer, focusing on providing technical support and engineering consultations to develop the infrastructure and operations of drinking water facilities. My work encompasses energy conservation, water loss reduction in networks, and developing performance evaluation methodologies and tools for these facilities using indicators derived from the Egyptian code and international standards, applying best practices gained from extensive practical expertise.

Over 49 years of professional engineering consultation services for public and private firms in Egypt and abroad. • Extensive experience in the fields of sludge management, training on operation and maintenance of W/Wastewater facilities including sludge treatment and handling, quality management, health & safety, desalination facilities, and operational optimization. • Worked for international consulting firms such as GIZ, USAID, CH2M hill, CES consultant office, Chemonics International, Wilbur Smith, Dorch Consulting, Padco International, and Audio Systems. In addition, providing technical support to Government organizations such as COGSD in Cairo and Medina in Saudi Arabia. • In coordination with the German Water Association (DWA) and (DVGW), implemented a Water & Wastewater Treatment Plant management certification program in Egypt and the Arab countries, and Jordan that raised the standards of process operations, maintenance, and quality control of desalination plants and WWTP. • Certified as TSM inspector by the (DWA) as Technical Sustainable Management (TSM) Certification Inspector and Trainer.
